How to Convert Watts to Volts

The formulas behind each calculation mode

DC Circuit

Using Current V = P ÷ I

Voltage equals power divided by current

Using Resistance V = √(P × R)

Voltage equals square root of power times resistance

Example: 100 W ÷ 5 A = 20 V

AC Single Phase

Using Current V = P ÷ (PF × I)

Voltage equals power divided by power factor times current

Using Resistance V = √(P × R)

Same resistance formula applies

Example: 1300 W ÷ (0.9 × 12 A) ≈ 120.37 V

AC Three Phase

Line-to-Line V = P ÷ (√3 × PF × I)

Divide by √3 × power factor × current

Line-to-Neutral V = P ÷ (3 × PF × I)

Divide by 3 × power factor × current

Example: 5000 W ÷ (1.732 × 0.8 × 10 A) ≈ 360.84 V
